James next married Frances Semelda Badgley, daughter of Anson Badgley and Martha Allen, on 7 Jun 1886 in Argos, Indiana. (Frances Semelda Badgley was born on 30 May 1866 near Argos, Indiana, died on 29 Jun 1929 in South Bend, Indiana and was buried in Bucks Memorial Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana.) The cause of her death was complications of diabetes.
